MADRID

December 2011

My second stint in Madrid was not that nice at all. This time I went for MADRID IS THE DARK FESTIVAL III and actually had a few days more for the city. I did not wanted to be that overwhelmed again as I was in 2009. But… chaos bit me… I got robbed, right after I arrived, on me way from the airport to the hotel. And there I stood: a 5 days trip and a festival ahead without money, without papers and, as if it wasn’t already enough, Ryan Air fucked up with the flights back home. I had a lot of my sightseeing list but well… At least I managed to see a little bit. And maybe I go back one day…

September 2009

Madrid was the second part of the Spanish tour without band and the shorter day for sightseeing. We arrived in the late afternoon and started a night walk through the city. And this city overwhelms you! Madrid is old! Ancient. Mighty. Grand. It breathes its long and colorful history through every pore. To be honest, it was a bit too much. But there is one thing I would like to warmly recommend when you are in Madrid: Churros! (is a fried-dough pastry, predominantly choux, based snack), best eaten on the way home late at night or early in the morning, dipped in thick hot chocolate. Priceless!
